Meet a Mom: Meet Jessica Cancelliere! - Union County Moms

This week I am so excited to introduce you to local mom Jessica Cancelliere!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Clark, NJ – My husband and I bought our first house in Westfield in 2012. We have since moved, but stayed in Westfield.

Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Gemma (girl, age 6), Frankie (boy, age 5), Dominic (boy, age 1)

Favorite things to do with your kids?
Cooking with my kids, although messy can be so fun. We like to make banana bread, and Italian knot cookies (minus the knot part) We call them GG cookies because the recipe was my Great Grandmothers. During the summer months we spend most of our time in LBI and love to swim and hang out on the beach.

Favorite places to eat & shop in the area?
We love to go out to dinner as a family, some of our favorite restaurants include, Sweet Waters, Addams Tavern, Roots Steakhouse. For shopping, Sole Shoes, South Moon Under, French Martini Shop, Patricia and Paul’s, The Running Store, and Williams Sonoma.

Favorite form of self care?
Exercise is very important to me, it keeps me feeling sane and if I’m having a bad day, chances are I didn’t work out and take some time to myself. I love Pure Barre Westfield but during these new unprecedented times I have found ObeFitness.com. Work outs are live and on demand, which is great for me I can squeeze in a work out whenever I see fit. (No pun intended). I also love to get my eye lashes done at my cousin’s beauty bar, Luna Grace in Westfield.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I am a realtor with David Realty Group in Westfield. I love working for them because they give a lot of support while also giving a lot of freedom – making it feel like true entrepreneurship.

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
“Winners aren’t afraid of losing, but losers are.” Always go after what you want and don’t take yourself too seriously. It’s better to take the leap of faith and get rejected then walk around with the what if’s hanging over your head.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
My husband and I went to high school together but we never really interacted and we reconnected at the jersey shore after we both had graduated from college.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Being a real estate agent, my work is strongly based off a referral basis. The more Moms I meet and connect with the more my business will continue to grow.
