Where are you from? Where do you live now?
I grew up in North Jersey, but have been living in Colonia, NJ for the past decade!
Do you have kids and what ages are they?
I have 3 amazing kids and they are 6, 9, and 16.
What is your favorite restaurant in Union County?
Anything with sushi or seafood!
What is your favorite local activity to do with your kids in Union County?
We love going to the town pool on hot summer days. In the fall, we like hiking in different places including Watchung Reservation. We also love getting ice cream from the Scream Truck!
Do you own a business and if so what can you tell us about it? Tell us what you do for a living?
I own Haven Pelvic Physical Therapy in Westfield. We very recently just opened our second location in downtown Summit. The importance of pelvic health has recently become more mainstream and I’m so happy more moms are taking it seriously!
What is pelvic floor therapy?
Pelvic floor physical therapy is PT for your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. Just like you would get PT when you hurt your knee, you can rehab your pelvic floor and core muscles after childbirth or during pregnancy when these muscles get super stressed.
Who should do pelvic floor therapy?
Anyone can benefit from pelvic floor therapy, but during a woman’s transitional periods like pregnancy and perimenopause it is especially important to focus on your pelvic health! These are the phases of life where hormones and physical bodily changes can place a lot of strain on your core and floor!
Any exciting announcements you would like to share?
I would love to invite everyone to our Grand Opening for our Summit location on Friday, September 19. We will be offering mini restorative yoga classes that focus on healing your floor and core. We will also be hosting free diastasis recti screenings for our postpartum mamas!
